In restaurants and industrial kitchens, food during cooking generates fat, pollution and annoying odors. In addition to these drawbacks, grease and grease deposits in the hoods, if not eliminated with continuous maintenance, can cause dangerous fires. The smells generated by the kitchens are often the subject of disputes with the neighborhood and disputes from the authorities, which can give rise to legal issues.

Applications

In recent years Light Progress USA has paid close attention to the use of ultraviolet rays to reduce odors and reduce fat deposits in the ventilation systems of industrial kitchens. In fact, the use of UV systems has proven to be very effective in this type of application, and for this reason the "Smell Reduction" line has been enriched with products with characteristics that are able to satisfy the various problems of space, efficiency, assembly, maintenance and method of treatment. For every situation, light Progress products offer a valid solution using only UV lamps or by combining different technologies (UV + Ozone, UV amalgam, UV amalgam + ozone, nano-structured titanium dioxide filters).

The common mesh, labyrinth or acrylic filters (on plenum) are ideal for micronizing fat particles and allow maximum performance of Light Progress systems.


Street-level air outlet

In the case of using -OZ systems and expulsion of air at street level, it is advisable to apply a second UV system at the end of the line (without ozone), before the outlet vents. UV rays manage to eliminate any residual ozone that could otherwise be expelled on the road. As an alternative to the second UV system, activated carbon filters can also be applied; the duration of the filters is prolonged by the ozone itself thanks to its cleaning and regenerating action.
